History of CWLRC:

Center for Women's Legal Researches and Consulting (CWLRC) is an independent non- profit center established in Gaza the year 2005 upon the initiative of a group of Palestinian lawyers and civil society activates who believe in the importance of enhancing women's social and legal rights through providing legal consultation training and researches to achieve equality , justice and thereafter democracy in the Palestinian society .CWLRC was registered in the Ministry of National Economy, number 563141852, in May, 10th, 2006

Vision and Mission of the center:

Center for Women's Legal Researches and Consulting(CWLRC) works to formulate the legal and social vision for women as the main partner to men in building the Palestinian society on the basis of democracy. Also, CWLRC develop and empower the legal and social status of women to achieve their rights in all aspects of life.

CWLRC Objectives:

1- Working to adopt democratic national legislation , guaranteeing the reinforcement of the principle of equality between women and men in rights and duties.
2- working to harmonize the national legislations with the international standards of human rights in general , and also with women rights in particular, especially the Agreement Abolish Discrimination against Women.
3- carrying out legal studies and researches , and studying the laws and draft bills and suggesting alternatives in place of errors and weakness , to achieve the first objective mentioned above.
4- Working to distribute specialized studies concerning human rights in general and women rights in particular.
5- Working to protect women in the field of law effectively before the national  courts and offering legal counseling  in order to achieve this protection.
6- Contributing to rise awareness on democracy ,human rights in the Palestinian society and combat the legal illiteracy  in our society through educational courses.
7-Working to separate between the three authorities by awareness , edification and training.
8-Rainforcing the center's relation with the institutions of local  society concerned with feminine and legal issues at the Arab and international level as well , and guarantees achieving the center's objectives.

Programs :

The Center depends on teamwork to mange its programs as shown below:
1- Research and studies program:
The program aims to conduct researches and studies of legal aspect so as attain harmony between national legislations and international standers of human rights in general and for women rights in particular.
2- Legal Counseling and violence protection Program:
This program works to protect women before the national courts and to offer legal counseling to attain this protection.
3- Awareness, Education and training program:
This program contributes to raising awareness on democracy , human rights and women rights in particular , and combat legal illiteracy in the Palestinian society.

CWLRC Forums:

1- Young Lawyers Forum:
Develop Young Lawyers Forum to enable them to work as harmonious cultural group based on Gender perspective to defend women's rights and to raise the community awareness of these rights.
2-Women Forward Forum:
Aims to provide support to divorced women, particularly the
young, and integrate them into the community.
